For many years, access to insurance for global, comprehensive medical benefits has been limited to specific populations of employees. Staff who live and work in their home countries (Local Nationals) have made do with local plans that commonly restrict geographic areas of care, exclude key medical treatments for chronic illnesses like HIV and cancer, and use waiting periods, administrative burdens, and caps on dependents to further limit the scope of access.
Based on demand, global carriers have now begun rolling out insurance products that provide rich benefits to global workforces without geographic limitations.
